our wires crossed
and i was lost in the current
a heavy vault of sadness for a heart
now i wander through the deep
o, how i have made peace now with the dark
when i saw the sun glitt'ring
before i lost that spark
i found hell hounds always whimper
never bark

blues are my blues
it ain't got nothin' to do with you
my blues are my blues,
and i can't choose, no i can't choose
when i feel so down
they say that only time can heal
so why bring me down, man, with your jive?
if i want to feel sorry, i'll feel sorry
all night
and it ain't got nothin' to do with you
my blues are my blues,
and i can't choose, no i can't choose
when i feel so down
you say my blues make you worry
well thank you, but i'm doing just fine
and if i want to feel sorry, well
i feel sorry all of the time
and it ain't got nothin' to do with you
my blues are my blues ooh ooh ooh
and i can't choose, no i can't choose
when i feel so down
it ain't got nothin' to do with you
ooh baby don't come around
ooh baby don't come around
my blues are my blues,
and i can't choose, no i can't choose
when i feel so down
they say that only time can heal
so why bring me down, man, with your jive?

poem,
sing this shit out loud to yourself
humid nights
and then the air answered for me
while i stood facing your
wall of questions
and then you laid the weight upon me
before i was ready
to carry out all of my intentions
the tension was high
the nights were so humid
the look in your eye
made me feel so useless
to harvest all that i've sewn
or to watch all that's grown
turn to ashes?
and then the sea parted for me
while i stood facing the shore
and i took the weight off my shoulders
that i had carried before
the tension was high
the nights were so humid
the look in your eye
made me feel so damn useless
the look in your eye
made me feel so stupid
the look in your eye
made me feel so human
while i stood facing your
wall of questions
and then you laid the weight upon me
before i was ready
to carry out all of my intentions
the tension was high
the nights were so humid
the look in your eye
made me feel so useless
to harvest all that i've sewn

vermont winter folk song
if there's no reason put it back
i rang the bell until it cracked
but they'll never take my alarm
serious after that long,
unforgotten incident on the farm
but this time molly jumped down
from the second story of the barn
and molly's ankle's broken
and she can hardly move her arm
and when i ran to tell them
they sent for an ambulance
the firemen came too,
and then the firemen left
and the candle glowing upstairs
went largely unnoticed
and pretty soon the flames spread
to the floor and molly's card deck
and the hay in the loft caught
faster than one might expect
molly wears a cast now
and breathes a deep sigh of regret
and i know they won't forget
the next time i ring that bell
they better listen to me well
i rang the bell until it cracked
but they'll never take my alarm
serious after that long,
unforgotten incident on the farm
but this time molly jumped down
from the second story of the barn
and molly's ankle's broken

"paul is dead"
I was drunk the night we met, I might try to forget
Except I know so were you
I don't really care, cause we went on from there
And I try not to hide from what is true
The other night I had this dream
You told me what you want from me
I gave it to you instantly
and I woke up without a clue

Haunted Graffiti
making me ill from being so still
i'm living with myself these days
with barely anything to say
i'm living with my problems and can't
do a thing about them
i'm just a killer
who can't kill anything

one unique snowflake
over the tipsy line there
she's gone and done it
don't let some up-turned
bubbly-breathed belligerent
bother your love now
you're spinning circles
around every color
in your dust white dress
as for your good thing
i can only be jealous
of his am'rous gaze
you know no other
could light a fire like yours
he's firm in your flame
on the other hand
my old dew is glistening
for me yet again
and it's like:
"and when i see you
i want to kiss you, but
i know that ain't right
so i ask if i
can hold you, babe i only
want to make you glad"
and while hope leads me
back to that sweet spiral,
fear's reversing
